Weedol Pathclear Weedkiller Liquid Concentrate – Best Liquid Concentrate Weedkiller for Paths

Weedol Pathclear Weedkiller Liquid Concentrate is a great middle-ground for people looking for a “Goldilocks” weedkiller: not too strong and not too weak. This is especially important if you have water drainage on your property, though this formula is safe for children and pets once it dries.

Unfortunately, Weedol Pathclear is not the easiest product to use as it must be diluted with water, but it at least comes in single-use tubes, so you do not have to worry about measuring out the concentrate. This weed killer also comes with a fairly strong formula that includes 125 g/l glyphosate.

To make sure that the Weedol Pathclear is especially effective, its formula also adds 20 g/l of diflufenican to take care of foliage that glyphosate misses. One thing to consider is that this weedkiller does not cover a large area per tube despite the powerful, concentrated formula.

You also do not have much margin for error as Weedol Pathclear can only be used once a year, so make sure you use it properly and treat all the necessary areas in one run. But once you take care of everything, you do not have to worry about weeds coming back for at least 3 months, making it one of the longest-lasting formulas we reviewed.

PROS

  • Has multiple ingredients
  • Lasts for 3 months
  • Has a strong formula
  • Is less expensive

CONS

  • Not the largest coverage
  • Only use once a year

Roundup Path Weedkiller – Best Homeowner Weedkiller for Paths

Anyone with a garden who has had to deal with weeds likely knows about Roundup as the Monsanto product is one of the most popular weed killers in the world. This particular formula is designed specifically for consumers and should not be purchased by anyone with an especially large path or pernicious weed problems.

However, for your average homeowner, Roundup Path Weedkiller is a perfect solution as it does not require any pre-mixing or diluting, making it much easier to use. To make this weed killer even easier to use than that, this formula also comes in a container that includes a pump-action sprayer.

One thing to keep in mind is that Roundup’s brand name drives the price of this product up more than some of the others. However, to make sure that you still get a good value, the Roundup Path Weedkiller comes in a 5L container, ensuring that you have more than enough for jobs around the house.

Unfortunately, as a consumer-grade weedkiller, this formula is not the strongest we found with only 7.2 g/l of glyphosate – the most diluted on our list. This leads to a smaller coverage area as well with each L only covering 30 m2 and the whole container only covering a total of 150 m2 – though it starts working in 1 to 2 days.

PROS

  • Is a Ready-to-Use formula
  • Comes with a spray pump
  • Provides quick results
  • Comes with 5L

CONS

  • Is more expensive
  • Not the largest coverage

Resolva Path and Patio Ready To Use Weed Killer – Best Budget Weedkiller for Paths

The Resolva Path and Patio Weedkiller is probably best reserved for people who just need to handle a few small areas around the house and is definitely not intended for larger areas or persistent problems. However, as a lighter formula, this weedkiller is an inexpensive option that can fit anyone’s budget.

The Roundup Path Weedkiller offers even more value by providing the second-largest amount on our list at a whopping 3L. Though, you will still need to find some kind of spray bottle or a spray cap, as this product does not come with either, making it a touch less convenient.

Still, the Roundup Path Weedkiller is a solid option that is the only entry we reviewed that comes with diquat which takes care of the surface weeds while the glyphosate takes care of the roots. This combination of ingredients is what makes this formula so fast-acting with results you can see within 1 day.

However, the Roundup Path Weedkiller is not a powerful formula as it only comes with 8.3 g/l of glyphosate and 0.3 g/l of diquat. With a formula this diluted, this weed killer also falls a bit short in terms of coverage with only 35 m2 of coverage per L or 105 m2 in total – though this at least allows for a quicker natural breakdown.

PROS

  • Provides quick results
  • Comes with 3L
  • Has multiple ingredients
  • Is less expensive

CONS

  • Not the best coverage
  • Not the strongest formula

Barclay Gallup Weed Killer – Best Commercial Strength Weedkiller for Paths

If you have a large area with extremely resilient and persistent weeds, the Elixir Gardens Barclay Gallup Weed Killer is your best bet. For starters, this weed killer easily has the strongest formula that we reviewed with a massive 360 g/l of glyphosate to make sure that it kills even the deepest-set weeds.

This extremely potent formula is part of what allows the Elixir Gardens Barclay Gallup Weed Killer to cover so much area as well. Even though this formula only provides enough concentrate for 2L, it still covers 1666 m2 per L for a total coverage of 3332 m2 – by far the largest coverage we encountered.

Unfortunately, you get what you pay for, and the powerful Elixir Gardens Barclay Gallup Weed Killer formula does not come cheap. To make things a bit more difficult, this weedkiller is a concentrate that requires you to measure out the amount necessary and does not provide a spray bottle.

However, if you want to make sure that you kill the weeds and they stay gone, the Elixir Gardens Barclay Gallup Weed Killer has some of the longest-lasting results we saw. And to make sure you do not have to trouble yourself too much with the mixing process, this weed killer comes with gloves and a measuring cup for consistent results every time.

PROS

  • Has great coverage
  • Last longer than most
  • Has a strong formula
  • Comes with a kit

CONS

  • Is more expensive
  • Not the easiest to use

Deadfast Concentrated Weed Killer Sachets – Best Sachet Concentrate Weedkiller for Paths

Deadfast Weed Killer is a somewhat unusual product as it comes in a concentrate but not in the liquid form as most of its competitors. Instead, this weedkiller comes in salt glyphosate sachets or little pouches which allows you to mix it with water if necessary or apply it directly to the weeds in question.

This last bit is especially important as it allows the Deadfast Weed Killer to handle hardier foliage than some of its competitors which cannot tackle woody weeds. While not the most powerful formula we encountered, this weedkiller is still reasonably strong with 72 g/l of glyphosate per sachet.

Although even with 12 sachets included, the Deadfast Weed Killer only mixes for a total of 1 ⅕ L if you want to use it as a spray weedkiller. Still, even with such a small amount of water compared to other formulas, this weedkiller offers solid coverage at 60 m2 per sachet for a total coverage of 720 m2.

While not as difficult as some, the unique application and need for mixing if you want to spray make the Deadfast Weed Killer less convenient than some of the competition. You also should not expect to see results as quickly as with other formulas, though the results are just as effective.

PROS

  • Works on large foliage
  • Has a strong formula
  • Comes in sachets
  • Is less expensive

CONS

  • Not a fast-acting weedkiller
  • Not the easiest to use

Conclusion

In the end, the best weedkiller for paths for you will heavily depend on the amount of area you need to cover, the hardiness of weeds you need to kill, and your budget. If you have a large area of need to kill hardier weeds, then the Elixir Gardens Barclay Gallup Weed Killer’s powerful formula is your best option.

However, if you do not have a large space or pernicious weeds to worry about and want to save some money, the Resolva Path and Patio Weed Killer is a great value. Of course, the Roundup Path Weedkiller is great for most homeowners as it provides plenty of formula with an included pump-action spray.

If you need to take care of woody weeds that would otherwise shrug off most liquid formulas, the Deadfast Weed Killer Sachets are the perfect solution. Finally, the Weedol Pathclear Weedkiller is a great option if you need something strong, but not so strong that it might present a potential risk.
